Job Description
TheXerox Research Center Websteris seeking experienced researchers interested in multidisciplinary control systems spanning the areas of color controls, imaging systems, and complex mechatronic and HW/SW systems and their application in solutions and services.
An individual in this area would be responsible for creating new state of the art color imaging and productivity solutions for variety of digital printing systems comprised of electro-photographic and solid ink technologies. Additional opportunities exist in developing innovative controls approaches to complex electromechanical systems.
In addition to internal collaborations, the researcher would also collaborate with numerous Engineering Schools across the country with projects at Masters and PhD level. Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills since interacting with other research teams is essential.
Role/Responsibilities: Main responsibilities include advance control theory (leaning control, swarms/cooperative/ formation control), tensor-based processing (multi-channel/multi-spectral imaging) and modeling physical systems. Performing signal theory and processing with emphasis on non-linear filtering, adaptive processing, and image processing is also included in this role. Additional responsibilities include communicating with research and business teams in order to develop partnerships through cross-functional collaboration. The individual filling this position will be working in a team environment, and may also play a key role in the conceptualization, analysis, design, control and testing of complex electromechanical systems.
Projects may involve the development of systems and control schemes with an emphasis on performance improvements and/or cost reductions through the use of closed loop control or new design approaches. Growth opportunties include the application of controls expertise to the creation and optimization of solutions and services the surround physical products.
Requirements:
A MS, PhD or Post-Doc in computer science, electrical engineering, controls or other related areas. A candidate with BS degree with equivalent work experience may also apply. Industry experience will be a definite plus.
Knowledge of instrumentation and experience with MATLAB / Simulink for simulation and controls work is highly desirable.
Additional experience in distributed computation (cloud computing), combinatorial optimization, color image processing and specialized image processing (e.g. 3D) is a plus.
